During our weekend at Sandybrook Country Park in Derbyshire, I decided it would be a great idea to get out for a nice, family-friendly, character-building walk along the Tissington Trail. We really needed the exercise and the fresh air, and Derbyshire is a good place to get out and about and enjoy the scenery.

A weekend at Sandybrook Country Park, Derbyshire
April 2018 saw us take a trip over to Derbyshire to stay at Sandybrook Country Park and explore the beautiful surrounds of The Peak District. Sandybrook Country Park is just over a mile to the north of the town of Ashbourne, and around a two-hour drive from our home in East Yorkshire – the perfect distance for a weekend trip.
Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire
Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire is about halfway between our home in Yorkshire, and our Easter destinations of Cadbury World and Drayton Manor, and so made a handy stop off point on our journey. It certainly was much prettier than the service station on the nearby M1, and had a lot more room to run around.
Conkers, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Derbyshire
Conkers is an outdoor and indoor adventure centre near Ashby-de-la-Zouch in the midlands. If you have mini fans of bush-craft and outdoor adventure, then this is a great family day out. Continue reading
