What you getting up to this Autumn?
We kinda like Autumn. There’s still a little bit of sunshine left to get out and about and do some leaf jumping before the cold well and truly sets in. And then you have Halloween and Bonfire Night! If you’re looking for family days out for the Autumn half-term 2014, then this is what’s on.
This week sees the start of the annual Hull Fair. For us this means Autumn is here good and proper, and it starts the countdown to Christmas (sorry for the C-bomb, I know it’s still October).
This half-term we are going to Blackpool for a few days. We will be spending Halloween at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They have a whole day of spooky fun and are open until 10pm. We’ll be donning our best scary outfits and trying out the rides and paying a visit to Nickelodeon Land. Then an evening or two ‘doing’ the illuminations. Can’t wait! Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk becomes Pleasurewood Chills from the 25th October to the 2nd November, with EXTREME (over 12s only) horror rides available as an extra. Prepare to be scared!
For something seasonal but with less zombie action, Burnby Hall Gardens in East Yorkshire are running their Pumpkin Festival from 27th Oct – 2nd November.
Stockeld Park in West/North Yorkshire have a range of seasonal events and activities starting in October, including a free to enter Halloween costume parade, and visits to the wizard in his den (extra charges apply, gift included). Always something fun going on here at every time of the year.
