Take a cruise up the famous River Thames. A river cruise is a great way of seeing some of London’s top sights, including the London Eye, the Tower of London, and a lot of London’s bridges. London Zoo is in Regent’s Park – about 15-30 minute walk from Camden Town tube station. There’s a huge selection of animals in residence; there’s a reptile house and a very good aquarium. Read our review – London Zoo with kids

The National Gallery is a mecca of art. There’s too much to see here, like way too much, but it’s good for a quick trip in to see your favourite types of art (rooms are themed). We tend to use it for specific pieces for school project work – read our review of The National Gallery, London

If you want to show your kids London from up high, then The London Eye on the South Bank of the Thames is great. You can see for miles on a clear day – as far as Wembley Stadium and beyond. The Natural History Museum is a fantastic free museum with a lot to see. Learn about dinosaurs, extinct and rare animals, and how the human body works. It’s in a beautiful building too and right next door to the Science Museum. Read our review of the Natural History Museum
