It’s almost half-term here in the UK, and while the weather is still pretty wintry, there are lots of places you can explore with your family.
Indoor attractions are always busy at this time of year. One we can recommend is a visit to the National Railway Museum in York. It is free entry, and they are running a Paddington Bear themed exhibition again. We went in 2012 and it was ace. Please read our review, and check out the NRM website for more info.
Eureka! is a popular choice in West Yorkshire for families. Read more about when one family when to visit.
Why not get out and about on a less wintry day and explore your home town with an adventure trail from Treasure Trails? Check out their range of trails, each written especially for a city or town, and spend the day pretending you’re a spy, and exploring lesser-known details of your home town. This is what we did in Beverley
Find out about activities at your local free museums. Ours often run arts and crafts workshops for families, which are very popular. This is what we did one school holiday at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull
Are you a butterfly fan? London Zoo are offering exclusive access to their ‘secret garden’ area this half-term only. Could be a good excuse for a visit.
It can get expensive keeping the children entertained for a whole week. Look out for deals on sites such as Groupon and LivingSocial – UK
