This weekend we went to try out one of the #StayPlayExplore packages offered by Go Leicestershire.
Go Leicestershire want to share the delights of Leicester and Leicestershire with you, and are offering fantastic value short breaks so you can sample what the region has to offer you and your family. Being near enough in the dead centre of the UK, Leicestershire is accessible from so many places, and has great motorway and airport links.
With children under 10, we opted for the Family Fun break. On this break you get one night in a 4* hotel and entry to three out of five attractions. We were very excited!
The hotels available are the Leicester Marriott Hotel, Hinckley Island Hotel, Hilton East Midlands Airport, Hilton Leicester, or Sketchley Grange Hotel. The hotels have everything you would expect from a 4* facility including pools so you can have a nice, quiet family swim.
If you don’t get chance to do three activities, then you can come back at a later date. All passes are valid until the end of 2015, or book an extra night at the hotel and make it a bit less of a short short-break.
Packages are £129 for a family of four sharing a family room. This includes the room and use of the hotel’s facilities, breakfast AND entry into three attractions. Entry for a family of four into the National Space Centre, for example, would cost £48 alone. I think that this is amazing value. Even for us as a family of six (we would need to purchase two packages to cover two family rooms), this is brilliant. The hotel would probably have cost us at least £100 per room per night.
If you’re looking for a short break for your family, then this is well worth investigating.
So the question is – which hotel did we get, and which attractions did we visit? You’ll have to keep an eye on this blog over the next couple of weeks to find out.
Ok, here’s a bit of a clue to our first stop……
