Today, we went to Hornsea Freeport. It is one of those out-of-town outdoor shopping complexes which has designer outlets and discount stores. This weekend they are running family Easter activities, most of which are free. Winners!
First we joined in with a hunt for Easter Eggs. We had to find 6 different boards, solve the clues and write the answers on a card. Exciting.
Then we went inside and did some crafts for free courtesy of Perfectly Practical Parties, and watched a magic show which the children really enjoyed.
We love Hornsea Freeport and go quite often. There is a very good value soft-play centre – Neptune’s Kingdom – which my children love.
We went one weekday morning (term-time) and it was £1 per child. You don’t pay for adults. They have a two-storey soft-play frame with a separate toddler area, a large pool which they use for paddle boats or water walkers (extra charges apply), and a climbing wall for children aged 6 and over (extra charges apply). In this centre there are toilets and baby changing facilities, as well as a few amusement arcades.
The complex itself has a good mix of shops which are always good for a browse, especially the Clarks Factory Outlet and Thorntons Outlet. Lots of parking. Toilets and mobility hire, and a couple of cafes and food stalls.
Before we went home we handed our completed card to the man on the desk and we got a chocolate prize in return!! Happy Easter, everyone.
