Santa at Princes Quay Hull

Visiting Santa at Princes Quay, Hull

Santa arrives at Princes Quay shopping centre in Hull via a parade which sets off from Hull New Theatre at 11am on Sunday 16th November. He will be joined by the Frozen gang as well as a brass band and lots of people representing organisations across the city. We sent Claire, her fiance Ben, and their brood of four to put Santa through his paces ahead of his stint.

This is what Claire had to say….

“The grotto itself looks very sparkly and beautiful. It stands quite high like a snow palace. The walkway leading to it has a glittery swan sleigh, a lovely decorated tree and pretend snowballs and snow.

Whilst we were waiting to go in we met “Tumble” the friendly elf. He introduced himself to us all and made the children laugh and asked them what they’d like from Father Christmas this year.

Santa is a very jolly soul. He spoke to all the children and asked them what they would like him to bring them, and if they’d all been good boys and girls.

We had a picture taken with him (please note this is at an extra cost) including us adults of course. We obviously still believe in him too and also want some lovely presents bringing! 😉

The children were given a small gift each; Oliver the eldest at 9, a Skylanders game, Thomas aged 7 and Adam aged 5 a jigsaw, and Lucy aged 5 a soft toy puppy. They were all very pleased with their gifts.

The Santa experience was very nice and I’d highly recommend it, and at £4.50 per child I feel it’s a reasonable price. The atmosphere in the shopping centre in general is lovely, the Christmas lights and decorations give it a lovely ambience, and there’s plenty of space around the grotto.

The Frozen theme should go down well with most children, we even met the Anna and Olaf characters. Be sure to look for them when you visit!”

  1. Eliza would have adored meeting Anna and Olaf and Isaac would be chuffed with a skylanders game – looks like a fab place to take the kids
