Honeysuckle Farm is our very favourite farm to visit. It’s not too big, quite close to where we live, and not too expensive.
It has lots of sheep, goats, guinea pigs, and chickens. There are also horses, ferrets, and pigs. A lot of the animals are in the central barn, which is great if it rains because you can still see enough animals.
There is a big walk round the perimeter where you can view the sheep and visit the fish pond, and also a nature walk through a wooded area with a play fort.
The play barn is full of hay-bales which always seem to need jumping on until every crevice is full of hay.
It is fairly accessible and a pushchair doesn’t cause problems in most areas.
The farm gives cart rides (for about £1 each extra), and sells it’s own ice-cream using the milk from the cows – there is a milking session after lunch where you can learn about how cows are milked.
The cafe has a good choice of food and drink and is reasonably priced. There is a picnic area outside the cafe, with a covered area for wetter weather. There is also an indoor picnic room which isn’t as nice but is good for large groups. There is a large car-park with toilets on the outside, as well as toilets (inc disabled and baby change) in the main barn.
You can buy animal feed for 20p a bag from the entrance desk. There is a small gift shop with the usual branded souvenirs.
Honeysuckle Farm is off the B1244 south of Hornsea, and is open from Easter to September. For more details, please visit http://www.honeysucklefarm.co.uk/

Hay bales do sound like a lot of fun.
Two adults, two senior citizens and a 4 years old child visited on 22.08.2013 and saw in about an hour what appeared to be available. Personally felt that this was £18.50p spent to attend a play area for children
