East Park, Hull, East Yorkshire

During the Summer holidays of 2020 – you know, the one we will remember forever as the longest school holidays ever – we were invited to East Park in Hull to try out the paid attractions.

East Park is a great place to visit. I was brought up a short walk from here and have witnessed the changes over the years. It’s better than ever before and is a lovely place for a family day out.

YSP Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield, Yorkshire

Yorkshire Sculpture Park is just off J38 of the M1 north of Sheffield, and it is HUGE. It is the very extensive grounds of Bretton Hall, and it has been turned into a home for works of art from a wide range of sculptors, including Henry Moore, and Antony Gormley.

It’s years since I last went to Humber Bridge Country Park. We were up that way one evening last week to meet family and the girls were desperate to get down on the beach and play but it was getting late so I promised we’d come back again very soon.

Elsham Hall Gardens and Country Park, Brigg, Lincolnshire

Elsham Hall Gardens and Country Park is a great outdoorsy place in North Lincolnshire just off the M180 motorway.

We visited on a glorious bank holiday Monday, and it seemed that plenty of other people thought it was a good idea too. It opened at 11 o clock, just as we were arriving and the cars were cramming in, and there was already a queue (not too long though) at the entrance desk.

Pearson Park, Hull, East Yorkshire

Pearson Park is a Victorian park situated about 2 miles north of the city centre in the leafy Avenues area of Hull. It is popular with university students, and local families.
 
This week we have had some visitors over from New Zealand and they were keen to see some squirrels so we went to Pearson Park to see if any were willing to show themselves off.
