Bishop Burton Lambing Sunday

Lambing Sunday, Bishop Burton College, East Yorkshire

Sunday 10th March was the annual Lambing Sunday at our local agricultural college in Bishop Burton, East Yorkshire. Inspired by Julie and her trip to Lackham College in Wiltshire, we decided it was time we did the same.
It was very busy when we arrived and the cars were bumper-to-bumper but the events team did a good job of getting everyone parked up.

Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, East Yorkshire

Check out our post – Things to do in Hull with the kids

Ferens Art Gallery in Hull city centre is one of the free museums run by the local council. 
 
It houses a wide variety of permanent galleries of paintings and sculptures, both old and new. It also has a few spaces which are used for temporary exhibits. Recently, these exhibitions have included work by David Hockney, Andy Warhol, and Leonardo Da Vinci.

Wembley Stadium Tour, London

Supporting Chester FC means trips to Wembley have been non existent over the years so when we invited to the capital to visit the national stadium we knew it would be pretty different to the usual rope around a field, dog poo pitches that we’re used to in the lower leagues!

Wembley Park tube station serves the area and as we stepped out of the station, we were greeted with the magnificent sight of the famous stadium with its towering arch which can be seen right across London’s skyline.

Lambing at Lackham Farm, Chippenham, Wiltshire

On March 11th 2012, the husband and I took the children to Lackham Farm at the college for the first of their two annual lambing weekends. We had not been before but I had wanted to for several years. Last year luckily the weather was glorious, there was no kids football match to be played and so we were able to go and enjoy it as a family.

Sledging. Everywhere.

For us, it has been the perfect weather for one of our favourite days out – sledging!!


We live in a very flat area of the UK and really only have one hilly bit, and it gets very popular. But you can’t beat sledging. It’s fun, free, and with a hint of peril.

Just remember to wrap up warm, take a flask, and park your car carefully if you need to drive. Take car blankets and tyre mats just in case. And a warm fluffy towel. Don’t forget your sledge. Continue reading
