Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park, Southampton, Hampshire

Paultons Park is a theme park in Hampshire. Part of the park has recently become Peppa Pig World. If you have children who are fans of the round, porky one, then this is the place for them, even if you can’t think of anything worse than spending a large chunk of your day queuing with excited, over-tired 4 year olds.

Big Bus Tours, London

Call me a geek if you like, but I love the London bus tours. They are a great way of getting your bearings and learning lots of new things about one of the  biggest cities in the world.
 
They are not cheap and you really need to do every bit of it to get your money’s worth, but I could honestly sit on them all day going round and round. Unfortunately, the day we went, we didn’t have the time to do it all (we interspersed our voyage with trips to The Royal Mews, and to have afternoon tea) but we ran like crazy to make sure we caught the last one and had a fab trip round London as the evening drew in, and the lights came up.

Afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel, London

Afternoon tea is a great British tradition, and many hotels offer it. It is a light meal eaten in mid-afternoon and consists of tea (or coffee), light sandwiches, cakes, and maybe a scone with some jam and cream. 
You would not think that it would be something that children would like to do, but when we were invited to sample afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel in London, we jumped at the chance.
