Thackray Medical Museum, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Thackray Medical Museum is in Leeds in West Yorkshire, in the building that was once the Leeds Union Workhouse. It was re-opened in 1997 as a medical museum by the Thackray family, founders of a world-famous medical supplies company – the building once manufactured hip replacement joints and instruments for renowned hip replacement pioneer Sir John Charnley. It now houses exhibits of medical history and is a great place to learn about medicine and its impact on modern life.

The Royal Armouries, Leeds, West Yorkshire
This post is part of our FREE Family Days out in Yorkshire series
Better late than never! In October 2016, we made the trip over to Leeds to visit the Royal Armouries. It’s another great free day out, but not to suit everyone’s taste. I knew that not all my girls would enjoy this one, but I made them all go anyway. A trip to Leeds with Smiggle #SmiggleXmasParty
Smiggle invited us to go to an exclusive preview of their products in time for Christmas at their Leeds store in Trinity Leeds just in from the Briggate entrance. As Leeds is somewhere we aren’t really familiar with, and the three younger girls especially being big Smiggle fans, then it was a yes from us!
Visiting Santa at Eureka!, Halifax, West Yorkshire
This weekend we trotted over to West Yorkshire to the National children’s museum Eureka! to once again see Santa. We love Santa and had heard nothing but good things about the museum. It was also exciting for me as it was a good excuse for meeting up with other family bloggers, which is always a nice thing to do and doesn’t happen often enough for my liking. Continue reading
Volcano Falls Adventure Golf, Xscape, Castleford, Yorkshire

Halloween Weekend at Pirate Island Adventure Golf, Castleford
We were invited back to play Pirate Island Adventure Golf at Junction 32 at Castleford for their Halloween weekend, so we popped in on the way home from a few days in Blackpool. It made a handy half-way stop off, so we grabbed some lunch, hit the shops, and then nervously made our way over to the Halloween-themed Pirate Island. Continue reading
Snozone at Xscape, Castleford, West Yorkshire
