Burnby Hall Gardens, East Yorkshire

It’s been a while since we last visited Burnby Hall Gardens in East Yorkshire. We went there in 2013 and you can read our review here. I remember thoroughly enjoying our visit and thinking what a beautiful place it is and wondered why it had taken me so long to visit in the first place. Going back this week, I still feel exactly the same. There have been some improvements made but it is essentially, reassuringly, the same Burnby Hall Gardens I remember from 8 years ago.

East Riding Theatre, Beverley – Little Women

Over Christmas, we went to see Little Women at ERT – East Riding Theatre – in Beverley, East Yorkshire. It was my first visit and I have to say I was very impressed, both with the play and the theatre itself, and no doubt I will be back in the future. Mainly because it’s a great little theatre with lots going on but also because I can walk to it from my house, which is useful!

6 things to do at Tophill Low, East Yorkshire

Yorkshire Water very kindly sent us a brilliant picnic rucksack, so we decided to head up to Tophill Low, near Watton in East Yorkshire to have a spot of afternoon tea on a fine September afternoon.

Tophill Low is owned and managed by Yorkshire Water and is a great place to go for a walk in the fresh air, do some bird-spotting, and of course, have a picnic. Continue reading
