Team Honk is back!
This week I will be part of a team trekking 26 miles up,across, and down the Peak District. We estimate it should take about ten hours. The most I’ve walked recently is two hours, and we stopped to have a little picnic halfway through, so this should be fun!
Team Honk is a collective of bloggers that get together annually to do something challenging to raise money for Comic Relief so they can support projects both here in the UK and in Africa. In the past, we have raised in excess of £80,000 through a mix of blogging, and physical challenges such as 2014’s baton relay, and 2015’s Danceathon at Wembley Arena. Thank you to everyone that sponsored us for these events – you really have made a difference.
On Saturday 9th March, we will be setting off at around 6am on our 26-mile epic ramble. We hope to make it to the end before dark. There will be blisters, there will be ice-packs, and hopefully, lots more money raised for plenty of good causes.
A couple of years ago, we were privileged enough to be allowed to visit a project that Comic Relief has supported. Dynamix Youth Club in East Yorkshire used the money to part-pay for the running costs of their youth club for young adults with disabilities. It really was a worthwhile project and one that most people will never need to know about. You can read more about our visit

This latest challenge will probably be my biggest yet for Team Honk. The relay race required me to cycle this distance, but it was all flat and was over in about four hours. And even though I did the danceathon in a tutu (which was hard work as you can imagine), it was *only* six hours. This walk this weekend might just kill me. Not even kidding.

To sponsor Team Honk, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/the-4-and-a-bit-peak-district-challenge We have an initial target of £1000 and we are almost there before we’ve put on a single walking boot. We’d love to smash this over the weekend and add even more to the Comic Relief pot.
On the day, you can follow our progress by following #TeamHonk on Instagram and Twitter – please do come and see what we are up to and which one of us has started to cry first *hint, it might be me!*. We might also need one of you to call out the rescue team so if you could be on alert, that would be marvellous, thank you.
