Abbotsbury in Dorset is home to a trio of wonderful attractions. In June 2017, we were invited to have a look around Abbotsbury Swannery during their baby swans event, and we had a great time. If you’re fans of wildlife, then this place is well worth a visit.

Picturing Hetty Feather at The Foundling Museum, London
This week, The Foundling Museum in London invited us to go and see the exhibition Picturing Hetty Feather and meet author Jacqueline Wilson. As my two older children have read pretty much every Jacqueline Wilson book ever written including the entire Hetty Feather series, we couldn’t say no to this one!

The Forbidden Corner, Leyburn, North Yorkshire
So last year, we visited a place we’d been meaning to go for ages – The Forbidden Corner in Leyburn. It’s very popular and you have to pre-book. We’d heard lots of good things about it, so set a date to go up there and make a weekend of it. The only tickets we could get were for a 1 pm entry. We weren’t sure this would give us enough time in the park but decided to take it anyway as finding spare days to get anywhere seems to be more effort these days! Did we enjoy it? I think so. I’m still not sure what to make of it, to be honest. Continue reading

Getting kids into golf with Online Golf #OGgetkidsintogolf
Thanks so much to Online Golf and Golphin for a fun afternoon in Manchester, learning how to play golf from golf pros. We have played golf before, of course. If you can count trying to putt around pirates or dinosaurs, and the odd windmill. If crazy golf doesn’t count, then no, we haven’t really played any proper golf. So off we trotted to Manchester one sunny Saturday to get a little taste of proper golf from expert coaches and pro golfers. Continue reading
