The concept of Madame Tussauds is straightforward and a bit odd all at the same time – famous people in wax. Madame Tussauds has a 200 year history of creating figures out of wax, each year getting more and more sophisticated.

Afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel, London
Afternoon tea is a great British tradition, and many hotels offer it. It is a light meal eaten in mid-afternoon and consists of tea (or coffee), light sandwiches, cakes, and maybe a scone with some jam and cream.
You would not think that it would be something that children would like to do, but when we were invited to sample afternoon tea at The Cavendish Hotel in London, we jumped at the chance.
The Natural History Museum, South Kensington, London
The key attraction at the Natural History Museum is the dinosaurs. We’ve visited with our son Harry a few times over the last few years, and it is always the area that we head for first. It can get very busy, so it’s worth planning your visit for either early in the morning or later in the day. You follow an elevated walkway past dinosaur skeletons along with some brief information about the dinosaurs, then you head downstairs for more detailed information about the different types of dinosaur – how they moved, what they ate, what they looked like and so on. In between the two areas prepare yourself for the unavoidable moving, roaring Tyrannosaurs Rex – it seems to terrify most young children going past it!
The London Eye, London
The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel as it was known when it first opened for the year 2000 celebrations, has become one of London’s most recognisable landmarks. We love the London Eye and try and to fit in a ride whenever we’re in town.
The Royal Mews, London
Just behind Buckingham Palace through a little doorway you might not even know exists, are The Royal Mews.
The Royal Mews are where the Queen’s horses, carriages and official cars are kept. They are open for visitors and it is just perfect for young fans of horses and royalty alike.
The Science Museum, South Kensington, London
We visited the Science Museum in South Kensington, London recently with our four year old son Harry. We’ve visited with him a couple of times over the last few years, and in my opinion it is absolutely the best London museum for very young children. Continue reading

Lambing Sunday, Bishop Burton College, East Yorkshire
Sunday 10th March was the annual Lambing Sunday at our local agricultural college in Bishop Burton, East Yorkshire. Inspired by Julie and her trip to Lackham College in Wiltshire, we decided it was time we did the same.
It was very busy when we arrived and the cars were bumper-to-bumper but the events team did a good job of getting everyone parked up.
