Wembley Stadium Tour, London
Supporting Chester FC means trips to Wembley have been non existent over the years so when we invited to the capital to visit the national stadium we knew it would be pretty different to the usual rope around a field, dog poo pitches that we’re used to in the lower leagues!
Wembley Park tube station serves the area and as we stepped out of the station, we were greeted with the magnificent sight of the famous stadium with its towering arch which can be seen right across London’s skyline.

Lambing at Lackham Farm, Chippenham, Wiltshire
On March 11th 2012, the husband and I took the children to Lackham Farm at the college for the first of their two annual lambing weekends. We had not been before but I had wanted to for several years. Last year luckily the weather was glorious, there was no kids football match to be played and so we were able to go and enjoy it as a family.

The Ice Factor and Winter Wonderland, York Designer Outlet, Yorkshire
On a surprisingly sunny, but cold Sunday, we had a trip up to York to visit the Winter Wonderland at the McArthur Glen designer outlet. I (I mean my 8-year-old) was determined to try out the outdoor ice rink.

Legoland Discovery Centre, Manchester, Lancashire
UPDATE – MONEY SAVING VOUCHER AVAILABLE
Legoland Discovery Centre is an indoor attraction in The Trafford Centre in Manchester, and it is ace. For Lego fans young and old, it is a must-do, and brilliant for this time of year when the weather is not so good and there is lots of Christmas shopping to be done.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Bridlington, East Yorkshire
Today we visited Sewerby Hall and Gardens just to the north of Bridlington in East Yorkshire. This is a council-owned stately home with a long history over-looking the North Sea. The grounds are huge and incorporate animal paddocks, woodland walks, walled gardens and a pitch and putt golf course.
There is a land train from Bridlington promenade, and a car park on site (though it can get full in the summer). Today, early in November, it was idyllic – lots of orange foliage, and hardly any visitors.

Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland
Culzean Castle is a bit further afield but definitely worth the trip. The castle is set in stunning grounds with views across the isle of Arran (and other islands in the vicinity) and Ailsa Craig. There are long walks along the cliffs of the Ayrshire coast, along lakes and ponds, walled gardens and even to a port.

Harry Potter @ Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, Watford, Hertfordshire
If you’re not in to Harry Potter or good old cheesiness, then look away now. However, if you are a fan of the books and films of everyone’s favourite boy wizard, then you are going to LOVE this place.

The Blue Pool, Wareham, Dorset
We had a day out at the Blue Pool this week. A couple of miles outside Wareham in Dorset, the Blue Pool is a beautiful place for a family day out.
We started our visit with a cafe pitstop for coffee and cake to fuel our walk. We ate in the cafes sunroom with a gorgeous view overlooking the Pool itself, and I shared a very tasty scone with Syd while Max polished off a huge chocolate muffin.
