Barcelona in the Catalonia region of Spain is somewhere I’ve visited in the past. Do you remember those heady days without children, when you could go anywhere without worrying about school attendance, or how to keep little ones entertained, or having to pack for more than just yourself? It seems like a lifetime ago for me, but I’d love to revisit some of the places I’ve seen in the past with my children, though I suspect the activities once we were there would be a bit different! I would hope so anyway. Continue reading

Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester
The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester (also known as the MOSI) is one of the free museums managed by the Science Museum Group. Like other museums in this group (The Science Museum, and the National Railway Museum in York), it is huge and there is a lot to see and do for all ages. Did I say it was FREE? Continue reading
Didn’t we have a lovely time? March 2016
With spring fast approaching, it’s about time we got about and about a bit more. We need your inspiration!
Have you had a day trip somewhere this March which you can share with others? Whether it’s a theme park, the beach, a zoo, or a museum, if it’s in the UK and you can go with children then we want to know about it. Continue reading
3 things to do at half-term
With half-term just around the corner, I’d like to share with you three things to do with your children. As it’s looking likely to be a bit cold and wet this coming week, I’ve given you suggestions for indoor ‘days out’. Hopefully, the forecast will be wrong and we’ll be able to get outside for a while but you know, best to be prepared! Continue reading
An urban adventure with Jo Brand and Sport Relief
On Sunday, I had a little child-free day out of my own. To Doncaster in South Yorkshire. I know, right? It’s not the most glamourous of towns, but then I’m used to that. It wasn’t to do anything particularly adventurous, well unless you call walking at a steady pace through the town centre adventurous. There wasn’t even a prize at the end of my walk. So why did I bother? Continue reading
The Spa at Butlin’s Skegness
See our review of Butlin’s Standard Accommodation
During our recent family holiday to Butlin’s Skegness, I was invited to try out The Spa. While I tend to focus on family activities, the chance to do something for me, for just a few hours is too much to resist. Well, would you say no? Continue reading
What to do at Butlin’s Skegness at Christmas
This year we again spent the few days between Christmas and the New Year at Butlin’s Skegness. This was our fourth year in a row here and it’s becoming a bit of a Christmas tradition. Why go stir crazy and eat your body weight in chocolate at home when you can do it in a Butlin’s apartment with entertainment thrown in? Continue reading
Sleeping Beauty at Hull Truck Theatre
After the success of last year’s Christmas production Cinderella, the team of Mike Kenny and Mark Babych are back at Hull Truck Theatre. This time it’s the story of Sleeping Beauty. Continue reading
Visiting Santa at Eureka!, Halifax, West Yorkshire
This weekend we trotted over to West Yorkshire to the National children’s museum Eureka! to once again see Santa. We love Santa and had heard nothing but good things about the museum. It was also exciting for me as it was a good excuse for meeting up with other family bloggers, which is always a nice thing to do and doesn’t happen often enough for my liking. Continue reading
Legoland Discovery Centre, Manchester
Legoland Discovery Centre is somewhere we have visited before but it’s been almost three years, which to my children, is like aaaaaaaaaggeees ago, although it feels like yesterday to me. Where does the time go?
After we’d visited Sea Life Manchester, and had some lunch, we hopped back over to the Barton Square area of the Trafford Centre to visit Legoland Discovery Centre. Continue reading
