Crealy Adventure Park is a family theme park near Exeter in Devon, about a 30-minute drive from our base at Andrewshayes Holiday Park. We spent the day here during May half-term, and we had a fab time! Continue reading

The Forbidden Corner, Leyburn, North Yorkshire
So last year, we visited a place we’d been meaning to go for ages – The Forbidden Corner in Leyburn. It’s very popular and you have to pre-book. We’d heard lots of good things about it, so set a date to go up there and make a weekend of it. The only tickets we could get were for a 1 pm entry. We weren’t sure this would give us enough time in the park but decided to take it anyway as finding spare days to get anywhere seems to be more effort these days! Did we enjoy it? I think so. I’m still not sure what to make of it, to be honest. Continue reading
Get kids into golf with Online Golf
Getting kids into golf with Online Golf #OGgetkidsintogolf
Thanks so much to Online Golf and Golphin for a fun afternoon in Manchester, learning how to play golf from golf pros. We have played golf before, of course. If you can count trying to putt around pirates or dinosaurs, and the odd windmill. If crazy golf doesn’t count, then no, we haven’t really played any proper golf. I’m not sure it’s something the girls are desperate to be too involved with, but we have a rule in this house, and that’s we should try anything new when we get the opportunity. So off we trotted to Manchester one sunny Saturday to get a little taste of proper golf from expert coaches and pro golfers. Continue reading

Red Nose Day local project: Dynamix Youth Club
In previous years, we have helped raise thousands of pounds for Comic Relief and Sport Relief as part of blogger collective Team Honk. In 2014, we were part of a national team which moved a baton from Land’s End to John O’Groats, and in 2015 we were part of the huge Danceathon at Wembley Arena. Team Honk have raised in excess of £80,000 since 2013. Continue reading
The Royal Armouries, Leeds, West Yorkshire
This post is part of our FREE Family Days out in Yorkshire series
Better late than never! In October 2016, we made the trip over to Leeds to visit the Royal Armouries. It’s another great free day out, but not to suit everyone’s taste. I knew that not all my girls would enjoy this one, but I made them all go anyway. It’s character building, and we needed somewhere new to see which wasn’t too far away, indoors, and didn’t blow our budget. Continue reading
