How to introduce Stonehenge? Surely. there is no-one alive who couldn’t recognise Stonehenge on a picture?
 
Stonehenge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a mystery, and a wonder. It has been attracting visitors since it was built hundreds of years ago. Although archeologists and other people whose job I can’t spell are able to have a good idea of when and how Stonehenge was built, we really still don’t know why

Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park, Bridlington, East Yorkshire

Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park is in the Park Rose complex just outside of Bridlington at Carnaby. It used to be known as the Park Rose Birds of Prey Centre but has expanded recently and undergone a full rebranding under owners Carl and Claire. We went to visit this week to see what had changed and to meet the new animals.

Harewood House, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Harewood House near Leeds is an 18th Century stately home and gardens, which are open to the public. It is one of Yorkshire’s leading attractions, and is a lovely day out for families.
Harewood House is associated with many notables, including Capability Brown, and the artist JMW Turner. It will be the starting point, Grand Depart, for Le Tour (The Tour de France) in Summer 2014.

Penguins at The Deep Hull

Meeting the new penguins at The Deep, Hull

The Deep is somewhere we have visited many, many times. It is the biggest attraction in our region and gets thousands of visitors every month. You can see my review of The Deep here.
 
With the twins recovering from chicken pox and needing somewhere to burn off some energy on a windy day, we decided to go again and have a look at The Deep’s latest arrivals – four Gentoo penguins. So with our own penguins in tow, off we went.

The Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire

I know it’s only November but time flies and it won’t be long until Christmas. I’ve been a bit slack with Christmas preparations and I really needed something to get us into the spirit of it all. A trip to Stockeld Park near Wetherby and their Christmas Adventure did the trick!
