The more eagle-eyed reader may have noticed that I have swapped my shiny MAD Blog Awards 2014 ‘Nominate Me’ badge for a rather more shiny ‘Finalist’ badge. Go me!

Meeting the new penguins at The Deep, Hull
The Deep is somewhere we have visited many, many times. It is the biggest attraction in our region and gets thousands of visitors every month. You can see my review of The Deep here.
With the twins recovering from chicken pox and needing somewhere to burn off some energy on a windy day, we decided to go again and have a look at The Deep’s latest arrivals – four Gentoo penguins. So with our own penguins in tow, off we went.
Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy Tour 2014
On Saturday evening, we made the trip over to Leeds to catch the first stop on the latest Disney On Ice production Worlds of Fantasy.
This is a repeat of the popular tour from a couple of years ago and is a great chance to see it again, and to introduce it to younger children. We had a brilliant time.
Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy
We are very excited to be going to the latest Disney on Ice show Worlds of Fantasy. We will be going to the First Direct Arena in Leeds on the 8th March and we are really looking forward to it.
Worlds of Fantasy is a story of Mickey and Minnie’s road trip, taking in Tinkerbell and Pixie Hollow, Ariel and her undersea friends, Cars, and Toy Story 3 with Barbie and Ken. There is also “help” in the form of favourites Goofy and Donald Duck.

You probably are wondering what is happening with #TeamHonk?
You may have seen the baton winding its way up the country mile by mile. You may have seen Honkopoly and the baton’s epic trip around the London streets of the Monopoly board, or wheeling along Brighton seafront, and be wondering when the blithering-heck it’s going to be our turn. Continue reading
The Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire
I know it’s only November but time flies and it won’t be long until Christmas. I’ve been a bit slack with Christmas preparations and I really needed something to get us into the spirit of it all. A trip to Stockeld Park near Wetherby and their Christmas Adventure did the trick!
The York Dungeon, York, North Yorkshire
At The York Dungeon throughout Halloween 2013, accompanied children in spooky fancy dress get free entrance. (Please check the website for more details), so when we were given some adult tickets to try them out, we whacked some costumes on the kids and headed off!
The Family Arts Festival at The Junction, Goole, East Yorkshire
On Saturday, we visited The Junction in Goole to watch a live performance of The Man Who Planted Trees as part of the UK-wide Family Arts Festival.
The Family Arts Festival is a new festival aiming to bring live, interactive arts to children and their families.
Tropical World, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Tropical World is a very established and popular indoor tropical plants and animal house in Roundhay Park, on the north side of Leeds in West Yorkshire. It is perfect for a more inclement day, and a brilliant Autumn day out.
